Her research this ties in with research i am doing into the 8th century manuscript Christian Doumergue found - which refers to Pilate building a monument/tomb for Christ in Septimania. This information comes from the cycles of the Gospel of Nicodemus/the Acts of Pilate & the Avenging of the Saviour. These documents are New Testament apocrypha - with some of them being dated at their earliest to the end of the 2nd century AD.

One wonders if they are a cycle of conversion legends of these areas to Christianity, or whether these documents and the milieu that they were written in - do indeed suggest a separate tradition based on some long lost memories of these characters coming to Gaul ... read more HERE.
One point of interest is that Kris suggests in relation to Pilate that there may be a correlation between this and the burial of a Great Roman in the vicinity of Rennes-les-Bains, first mentioned by Abbe Delmas [that's if i understand her correctly from my translations of French of course!].
